Šis piemineklis Karksi-Nuijā tika atklāts 1936. gada 23. jūnijā. Padomju okupācijas laikā tas tika nojaukts 1941. gada 16. jūnijā. Piemineklis no jauna tika atklāts 2008. gada 6. septembrī jaunā vietā, iepretim Rahumē kapsētai, puskilometra attālumā no sākotnējās vietas. Vietas maiņu veicināja fakts, ka sākotnējā vietā tagad ir industriāla vieta. Tas bija jāatjauno, pamatojoties tikai uz vecām fotogrāfijām, jo no oriģināla nekas nebija palicis pāri. Tika izmantoti divi augsti granīta bloki, kuru augstums bija 3 metri. Pieminekļa priekšpusi rotā Hannesa Starkopfa veidots balts zemais reljefs, kurā attēlots kritušais karavīrs.

Based on the photo of the original Pillar of Freedom, I think where it was, but maybe you can confirm it. It was supposed to be located just above the current EhitusMix building, the site of the old Nuia EPT buildings. I think so when I watch the trees in the background of the pillar. No information can be found anywhere. Folklore says that the destroyed Statue of Liberty was presumably left under the EPT buildings. Thank you very much.

I asked  Viljandi Museum muuseum.viljandimaa.ee/www/kontaktid

It’s manager Jaak Pihlak agreed that it must have been located on the site of Nuia EPT, but exactly where is unknown.

The location of the Statue of Liberty can be found relatively precisely according to the Tark Tee map. Between the buildings 8 and 8a of Pärnu street, Entrevuste street begins. Looking from there, opposite the end of the street is a long industrial building built in the 1950s, marked with the number three. Instead, the Statue of Liberty was located. Some lime trees on the Pärnu street side of this building were still preserved in the 1970s.
