The Strazde manor is located on the side of the Riga - Ventspils highway and it was the location of the group of General J. Kurelis on September 29 - October 28, 1944.

Heavily rebuilt to meet the needs of the school (from 1922), it lost its original appearance and proportions during the rebuilding. Strazde Manor is surrounded by a beautiful park.

On November 3, 1944, General J. Kurelis and Captain K. Upelnieks held talks with SS Obergrupenführer F. Yekeln and other German officers in this building in Talso. The historic building has been demolished, a new building is being built in its place.

The historical centre of Talsi, which is known as the town of nine hillocks. The historical construction around Baznīckalns hill, Lake Talsi and Lake Vilkmuiža mostly dates back to the 19^th century. The "Serpentīns" café is on the side of the Ventspils road (A10) and near the Strazde Lutheran Church. The lovely building has large windows. The café works with local farms and organises evenings of live music.

Latvian cuisine: Oatmeal, potato pancakes, farmers’ omelettes, farmers’ breakfasts, baked cod, sautéed salmon, roast leg of pork, grilled pork with rhubarb sauce, hot rhubarb cobbler, Latvian beers.

The farmwoman grows vegetables and fruits to produce tasty preserves, syrups, jams, chutneys and dried fruit. You can taste and purchase the products, go on a tour of an escargot farm, and taste escargots cooked in the Burgundy style. Children’s camps can be organised.

The restaurant is in Lielā Street in the centre of Talsi, offering food from the cookbooks of grannies and the global cuisine, as well as an extensive wine list. The restaurant works with local farmers.

Latvian cuisine: Sauerkraut soup with roast breast of pork, wild mushroom and grit soup, herring with cottage cheese, porridge, sautéed roast with sauerkraut, roast lamb, cottage cheese buns, Latvian beers.

The beer cellar Mara is situated in Talsi. Number of seating places: 100, in the summer season: 200.

The pizzeria is situated in Talsi, not far from Talsu lake.

Stender’s pizzeria with its nice comfortable setting offers special Stender’s pizzas which are baked according to the old traditions of pizza-making, incorporating the best of nowadays’ recognitions. Undoubtedly, it is impossible to do without pancakes and pots, as well as second-course dishes. Number of seating places:30

The cafe Kolumbine is situated in the suburb of Talsi city, about 1,5 km away from the centre.
