Preiļi Museum of History and Applied Art (PVLMM) exhibition "Museum stories for Latvia" about the First World War, the War of Independence and the Second World War can be viewed.
The "Story of Drywys" section of the exhibition "Museum Stories for Latvia" (opened in 2018) of the Museum of Preiļi History and Applied Arts is dedicated to the First World War, the War of Independence and the liberation of Latgale, as well as to the knights of the Lāčplešana War Order. The exhibition section "The story of the flag" tells about the difficult events of the Second World War period, during which the people of Preila were affected by deportations, the Holocaust, involvement in the military units of the warring parties, and after the war - in the ranks of national partisans. The "Righteous Among the Nations" medal awarded to Vladislav Vuškānas, the savior of the Jews from Preiliat, can also be viewed.
Upon prior application, a tour is available in Russian and English.

The educational program of the Museum of History and Applied Arts of Preiļi "Thinking about the Holocaust means thinking about yourself"
Der Unterricht findet in zwei Teilen statt. In der 1. Unterrichtsstunde des Programms besuchen die Schüler die Ausstellung „Museumsgeschichten für Lettland“ des Museums für Geschichte und angewandte Kunst von Preiļi und lernen die Geschichte und Kultur der jüdischen Gemeinde von Preiļi kennen. Durch die Bekanntschaft mit dem Tagebuch von Sheina Gram, einem jüdischen Mädchen aus Preili, das sie an dem Tag zu schreiben begann, als Nazideutschland in die UdSSR einmarschierte, stellen die Schüler eine emotionale Verbindung zur tragischen Realität des Holocaust in Preili im Sommer 1941 her. Lektion 2 ist eine Exkursion zur Holocaust-Gedenkstätte Preilii, bei der die Schüler etwas über die Tragödie des Holocaust, jüdische Retter und die Bewahrung der Erinnerung an die Opfer in Preilii heute lernen. Die Ziele des Programms sind die Stärkung des Verständnisses der Ereignisse des Zweiten Weltkriegs und des Holocaust in Lettland unter Verwendung der lokalen Geschichte sowie die Förderung der Entwicklung einer toleranten und mitfühlenden Persönlichkeit. Themen rund um das Fach Geschichte werden im Unterricht behandelt, wie die Ereignisse des Zweiten Weltkriegs in Lettland, der Holocaust, der Nationalsozialismus, Kollaboration.
