World War I German army bunker in Sērene parish
Bunkeris
On the banks of the Daugava River, military fortifications built by the German army during World War I served as firing points, ammunition depots, possibly infirmaries or medicine storage facilities. Some buildings have survived well, while others have only partially survived. Their exact military significance has not been determined. In addition to the aforementioned building, there are several other military fortifications on the left side of the Daugava River.
Accessible from the state road Aizkraukle-Bauska P87 on the left side. There is a geocaching box in the bunker. The owners have done some minor cleaning work to make it accessible. There is a young pine forest around the bunker. The owner does not object to visits to the bunker she owns, but visits must be arranged in advance by calling: Rea Vovere, Mob: 26314012
