The grave was dedicated on September 22, 2007. The dedication was organized by the People's Association for the Care of German War Graves. The German soldiers who fell in the vicinity of Riga and other regions of Latvia are reburied in this cemetery, the number of which is approximately twenty thousand. During the consecration of the graves, more than 1,900 soldiers rested there, including 30 Latvian soldiers. In 2021, more than 5,600 soldiers were reburied here.
