A memorial to the soldiers who died in World War II can be seen, which was erected to destroy the old Catholic cemeteries.
Buried: 1959 - 204; 1980 - g. 710 (all known and marked) and 4 SA soldiers killed in the War of Independence (1919); 1984 - 722 (715 known and marked) soldiers.

It is located next to the church of the Roman Catholic Church in Varakļāni, which suffered various hardships during the Second World War - the loss of an organ, the removal of bells from towers, etc. A tour of the church (accompanied by a guide) is included in the "Path of Souls".
