This educational tour takes you through the most important stages of Estonian military and aviation history – from World War I and the independence struggles to World War II and the Soviet occupation. On the route from Valga to Lange, students will visit the Valga Military Museum and the Estonian Aviation Museum, where they will not only learn about history, but also experience it through interactive activities. The tour combines educational content, practical experience and exciting technology.

What the tour includes

At the Valga Military Museum, students will get to know the exhibits of the Estonian War of Independence and the Cold War era, where they will be able to see both indoor exhibitions with historical equipment and outdoor exhibitions of equipment. It is especially exciting to participate in interactive events – ride an armored personnel carrier, try out a helicopter simulator and a shooting simulator, thus experiencing what everyday life was like for soldiers and military technology in action. At the Estonian Aviation Museum near Tartu, students will be able to see aircraft from different eras and learn about the development of aviation technology. The museum offers a free audio guide in Estonian, English or Latvian, which will help you understand the functions and historical significance of the aircraft. You can explore the museum with a guide. In addition, you can relax in the museum café, have a coffee or lemonade and even taste ice cream, making the excursion both educational and fun.
