During the lesson, students will try to find answers to the questions: Why did the authorities and repressive structures of Soviet Latvia persecute and arrest people? What is nonviolent resistance and does it make sense? Who are dissidents and what gave them courage? What happened to the people who preserved the idea of Latvian freedom under the conditions of occupation? In the lesson, we will pay attention to values - freedom, love of the Fatherland and truth in LATVIA then and now, because the topic of the lesson is not just history - together we will try to understand what the freedom and symbols of Latvia mean to modern youth.
