The monument is located 200 metres into the forest, with a sign pointing towards its location. This monument comprises a large boulder placed on a foundation laid from fieldstones. The polished front depicts the Cross of Liberty and bears the text: "RESTING PLACE OF AN UNKNOWN HERO OF THE WAR OF INDEPENDENCE / FEBRUARY 1919 / This monument is dedicated to the Forest Brothers fallen in Hinnimäe, Tikutaja and Korneti". The idea for the memorial came from Leonhard Puurits, an Estonian expatriate. It was designed by Jüri Punna from Toronto and fashioned in Estonia by Olev Russ. It was unveiled on 23 June 1993.
