Alūksne Museum Museum

During the lesson, students study the materials available in the exhibition – texts, historical documents, photographs and objects –, work with copies of historical testimonies, listen to audio recordings of the life stories of deported families and gain an opportunity to understand more deeply the life experience of the politically repressed, oppressed and punished Latvian population by the Soviet regime. Students discuss what they have seen and heard, compare historical events with contemporary experience and are invited to think about the meaning of freedom – how it affects the life of each individual and society as a whole.
