The world of Valgum - the residence of the Soviet nomenclature

During the Soviet era, the current territory of Valgums Paasas was a closed residence and recreation center of the USSR government with security, a fence, and connections to Moscow. The building was built in 1968 according to the design of architect Ivars Strautmanis, which was implemented with exceptional precision.

During the Soviet Union, the current territory of Valgums World was a closed place used by the USSR authorities, especially the Communist Party and for state security purposes.
It functioned as a residence and recreation center with a fence, security, and telecommunications connections to Moscow.

The building was built in 1968 and designed by architect Ivars Strautmanis — the project was implemented millimeter by millimeter.

The residence was under the jurisdiction of the USSR Council of Ministers, and is popularly known as the residence of Kosygin (Chairman of the USSR Council of Ministers). Kosygin himself visited it only once.
Voss - only at the opening event of the residency.

Soviet nomenclature officials rested in this residence, but overall there were few guests here — silence was maintained for the most part.

The area was guarded by Tukums KGB men, but anti-missile systems from the Baltic War Zone were deployed in the surrounding forests (which were told by a former employee, born and raised in Smärde).

Local legends mention that Brezhnev's daughter Galina Brezhnev and ballet dancer Maris Liepa enjoyed staying here.
