Text of the Partisan Oath

Lithuanian residents, when becoming partisans, swore an oath according to this text.

"I swear before Almighty God that I will faithfully and honestly fulfill the duties of a member of the Lithuanian Freedom Fighters' Movement, fight for the restoration of Lithuania's freedom and independence, sparing neither my property, health, nor life, accurately carry out the movement's statutes, bylaws, and orders of my superiors, sacredly keep all secrets entrusted to me, never consult with the enemies of Lithuania, do not provide them with any information, and as soon as I learn about them, I will immediately report everything to my superiors, protect the welfare of the country, and behave everywhere as befits a righteous, obedient, and valiant freedom fighter."

I am well aware that I face the death penalty for willful failure to carry out tasks and betraying secrets.

"May the Lord help me. God in my works for the Homeland Lithuania."
