The cordon complex is located approximately 10 km east of Saaremaa Pang Bank, along the national road between Leisi and Võhma, in the small village of Liiküla.

This is a unique border guard post, which was established over 60 years ago to guard Estonia's western border on Saaremaa. The site is a classic example of a Soviet border guard post in the post-World War II period and was one of the supporting structures of the Cold War "Iron Curtain". The post has one of the tallest observation towers of its type, with a total height of about 22 meters including the cabin. The very well-known and beloved Soviet actor Yevgeny Leonov and also Mikhail Kalashnikov, the inventor of the legendary Kalashnikov assault rifle, have come to rest here.

The object is relatively well preserved as a complete and rich cordon complex compared to the few other remaining Soviet border guard bases in Estonia and Europe at large. A museum of Yevgeny Leonov is being created in the former inn, which will also honor the well-known Estonian actor Lembit Ulfsak, with whom Leonov participated in the filming of the film “The Legend of Ulenspiegel” in Estonia and on whose recommendation he came to Saaremaa. The lodge houses a photo exhibition about the history of the cordon and its famous visitors.
