Vecluiky Brothers Cemetery “Wez-Luiki”
Memorial site
Located on the side of the Bauska – Aizkraukle (P87) road, 4.5 km northeast of Taurkalne and 1.6 km from the left bank of the Daugava. 64 German and 5 unknown Russian army soldiers are buried in the cemetery. A monument was erected in the cemetery in 1940. Concrete crosses with the names of the fallen soldiers, their military units and the time of their death are placed in rows in the cemetery. The graves are surrounded by partially preserved old fence posts that border the graves. Less than a kilometer north of the cemetery is Priežu Hill. Looking at the LIDAR map, a dense network of trenches, buildings and warehouses is visible in the wider area.
