Pärnu Krasnoyarsk Barracks Military town
The Pärnu Krasnoyarsk Barracks is one of the most remarkable surviving ensembles of military buildings from the Russian Empire in Pärnu. The formation of the complex is associated with the reorganization of the Russian army at the beginning of the 20th century and the need to place larger military units in the cities after the 1905 revolution. The complex included barracks, a canteen and various service buildings, and the area was used for military purposes under different governments and later. The preserved buildings are valuable from the point of view of both military history and military architecture and give an idea of the life of the Tsarist army garrison in Pärnu.
