Vääna-Posti reed shelter 2 Fortification
Vääna-Posti mudflat shelter No. 2 is part of the extensive system of defensive structures on the Tallinn land front of the Peter the Great sea fortress. The shelter was completed in the final years of World War I and was connected by tunnels to other structures in the same position. Several shafts from the construction period have survived in the ceiling of the underground passage leading from the shelter, and traces of former formwork can be seen in the passage. Today, the shelter and some of the tunnels are filled with water. The object gives a good idea of how much of the sea fortress's defensive system was made up of underground connections and concrete structures built to protect the crew.
