Aegna Officers Casino Military town

The Aegna Officers' Casino was completed in 1922 and was one of the most important buildings of the garrison of the sea fortress located on the island during the Republic of Estonia. The casino was a meeting and resting place for officers, and for some time the building was also used as a headquarters. During the period of Estonian independence, Aegna developed into a well-developed military settlement, where in addition to batteries there were barracks, headquarters, a power station, a library, an outpatient clinic, a sauna and other facilities necessary for everyday life. The casino recalls the time when Aegna was not only a fortified island, but also a place of residence and service for hundreds of military personnel.
