The Paldiski artillery fire control tower, built in the 1950s, was connected to the railway battery. Fire control towers were also built to the same design in Suurupi, Tahkun and Ristna in Hiiumaa. After the railway battery was dismantled, the tower fell into disuse in the 1960s. Later, it housed the Pakri training ground fire control point. The Paldiski city control shelter was installed in the command post next to the tower.
