Paldiski 45 mm gun battery (No. 2) Infrastructure

Four round, concreted positions, arranged in a line with a gap of about 15 m. They are relatively well preserved and can be viewed in nature. During the vegetation period, however, the thick vegetation interferes. There are also trenches and shelters in the area, which may not necessarily be related to this battery.

According to Battal.ee, in 1940, there were two 45 mm batteries in Paldiski, each with four guns – No. 245 and No. 246. The batteries were located on the coast between Paldiski North Harbour and the lighthouse, approximately 2 km apart.

They were blown up during the retreat of the Red Army in August 1941. The North Battery (2) was later restored and reused. From November 1944 to 1946, it housed Battery No. 799 with three 45 mm guns. The South Battery was no longer used after the war.
