Didžioji Vandens g. 2, Klaipėda, Lithuania

The exhibition tells the story of the history of the Klaipėda region in the first half of the 20th century, based on museum exhibits, relics from private collections and archival materials. Twelve visual stories present the most important political, economic and cultural events – from the East Prussian period, the First World War and the Klaipėda Uprising of 1923 to the transfer of the region to Germany in 1939.

The exhibition reveals the uniqueness of the region, the daily life of the inhabitants, the economy and culture, and exhibits weapons, documents, items of the townspeople and advertising materials. At the multimedia terminal, visitors can get to know more about the documents and events of 1923–1939, and the model of the city of Klaipėda from the first half of the 20th century allows you to see the historical Old Town and the most important buildings of the city.
