In 1944–1953, the Sword Partisan Squad was active in Samogitia. One of the monuments dedicated to the Sword Squad is erected in the western part of the Grūšlaukė churchyard. The monument consists of a wooden cross and a black stone memorial stone. The cross is wooden, monumental, and painted brown. The cross stem and crossbar are rectangular in cross-section with beveled edges, their tops and ends of the shoulders are in the form of an acorn. The sides are decorated with openwork ornaments of a stylized plant motif. A cast metal sculpture of a crucified person is nailed to the cross, which is surrounded by a semicircular tin roof from above. The memorial stone is irregular in shape, gray-black in color, flat, placed on a concrete pedestal, and the names of the fallen partisans are carved on its facade.
