The Naissaare Historical Cemetery is located in the southern part of the island near the church and is protected as a historical monument. The cemetery tells the story of both the local residents of Naissaare and the island's military history. Sailors who died in the Gulf of Finland at various times are buried here. In 1809, 17 English sailors were buried in the cemetery, and another 13 English sailors during the Crimean War in 1854–1855. The cemetery has a memorial dedicated to the British sailors who died. During World War II, German sailors who were washed up on the western shore of Naissaare in 1941 were also buried here. Today, the cemetery, surrounded by forest, is one of the quietest places of memory in Naissaare, where the history of the island's coastal people is intertwined with the military events that took place in these waters.
