Erected in 1972, in memory of the 30th anniversary of the Audriņi tragedy in World War II. On January 4, 1942, the German fascist occupiers burned the village during a punitive operation, publicly shot the adult men of the village in the Rēzekne market square, and killed 291 villagers in the Ančupāni forest. The author of the monument is sculptor Alise Veinbaha.
