The Kapsēde boulder is located on the side of the abandoned Liepāja-Ventspils railway, 300 m south of the Kapsēde railway station. One of the largest boulders in Latvia, a protected geological object since 1957. The boulder is split into two parts.

 

During World War I, the Germans carved the inscription Weltkrieg 1914 — 1916 into the stone.

 

The circumference of the largest part of the stone is 16.5 meters, height 4.2 meters, length 5.5 meters, width 3.5 meters, and volume 60 m³. The volume of the smallest part is approximately 10 m³. The total volume of the stone was initially estimated at 80 - 110 m³.
