Sculpture "Three Crosses" Memorial site
In the city of Telšiai, on the hill where the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is built, you can see the expressive sculpture "Three Crosses". Next to this sculpture, a panoramic view of Lake Mastis opens.
Old photographs testify that even before the sculpture appeared, a cemetery for German soldiers from World Wars I and II was established in the churchyard, which later disappeared.
The sculpture was erected in 1991 and is dedicated to the memory of the residents of the Telšiai region who died in Soviet camps and in exile. The author is J. Gudonis, a graduate of the Telšiai Higher Art School (supervised by sculptor Osvaldas Neniškis). On June 14, a service is held at this place.
