Town square in Samogitia Naumiesti.

The monument was built in 1928 in the center of the town to honor the volunteers from the Samogitian Naumiestis area who died for the freedom of Lithuania. Its shape resembles Gediminas Castle and reflects the main political myth of interwar Lithuania, which sought to liberate Vilnius "captured by the Poles". It consists of a two-tier obelisk with a top in the form of Gediminas' pillars, where the Lithuanian flag was raised. The edges of the obelisk are highlighted by concrete borders, the corners of the lower tier are columns, and the flatness is recessed. There are panels with inscriptions and reliefs in the front part. The monument was surrounded by a wooden fence. In 1951, by order of the local Soviet authorities, the monument was demolished and buried. In 1988, At the initiative of the residents of Samogitia Naumiestis, a commission was formed to restore the monument, which collected donations and, with the help of local craftsmen Juozas Bėta and Pranas Lukošius, restored the monument.
