“Ramovė” Villa club of Lithuanian Officers
Infrastructure
In the central part of Palanga city.
The Officers' Villa Ramovė is a typical resort architectural structure that fits perfectly into the Palanga architecture of that period. It was purchased, renovated and rented by the Lithuanian officers' corps.
In 1934, the Lithuanian Army Officers and Military Officials Club purchased a two-story villa with funds collected by its members and named it “Ramove”. The following year, the villa was renovated according to the instructions drawn up by the Military Apartments Department, during which the roof of the villa was repaired, rooms for vacationers were equipped and new furniture was brought in. Many prominent Lithuanian officers of the interwar period and their families rested in the villa, and its demand was high during the summer. In 1936, at the general meeting of the Lithuanian Officers and Military Officials Club, it was decided to prepare projects for a dining room and a new 100-seat villa. In 1939, a project for the villa’s major renovation was prepared, which provided for the installation of 9 entrances in the villa, a glazed porch in the center of the building, and a balcony on the second floor. The aforementioned plans were not destined to come true, and during the renovation, the villa only increased by a few rooms. In 1940, On December 31, the villa and the land belonging to it were transferred to the Soviet Army.
